As a new starter this mini 3 is in some ways perfect. In Sweden you need to take the test but as the mini 3 weight is under the 250g level, it gets under many of the tougher restrictions in Sweden.

In this aspect it’s great!!

But the price is far to high, as without follow me function or multi-zone protection , it’s easy to crash.

Changing blades, with all drones , can be a hit and miss, as they do need to be perfect for the drone to fly right.

I personally wanted to also have the follow me function, so while skiing or on the motorbike the drone would have follow. But this is not the Pro version or the mini4. So be aware!

Otherwise, I get around 20mins flight time. The controller is good but you need to transfer the films from drone to the controller and then via SSD card to a computer. Maybe ithe money would be better spent on a mini4 with the extra functionality. Oh well!!!

This drone is better than I expected it to be. I’d been practicing on cheap drones before attempting to fly this one and when I finally worked up the courage to fly it I found it much easier than the cheap ones I’d practiced on. The on screen guide on the remote gave quite a bit of good info for introducing you to the drone. YouTube has more specific guides on what you can fully do with the drone, but still the guide on the remote controller screen was very helpful. The more you fly the easier it is to get used to the controls. I unknowingly put myself in a couple situations where it looked like I was about to crash the drone into an obstacle but letting off the controls immediate helped avoid that so I recommend new flyers fly in a big open space and get used to flying forward and letting go of the controls to get a feel for how far it takes the drone to stop so you can avoid any unnecessary collisions. I’m very satisfied with how well the camera works and clear the images are. I’ve not fully tested the range yet because I don’t always have access to wide open areas but the distances I have flown I’ve had no issues with connectivity. Battery life says something like 34 minutes of flight time and I’ve gotten close to that, as wind speed does have an effect on the battery life. You’d definitely want to buy the fly more kit in order to prolong your flying. I think this is a good drone for someone who is starting off or for someone who wants to just fly around and have fun.

Love this drone! I’ve been wanting one for ages and decided to pull the trigger and do it. I’ve had this drone for almost 5 months now and haven’t had any issues. I wanted it mainly for photos and they absolutely rock. The quality couldn’t be any better for the price point. My recommendation is go with extra batteries, you won’t want to wait till it recharges. I’ve invested in 3 additional for more flying time. Unless you want to have to register it don’t go with the single lager capacity one’s. Other than that, it’s a blast and the photo/video is very nice.

Good Points: Not knowing UK rules and legislation in connection with flying Drones within the UK, I opted for DJI Mini 3 for its price, 4k video recording and many advance features. I had no idea that I was actually buying a drone under 249g which was exempt from Drone flying rules in many cases. Rules still apply to this Drone because it has a camera and it’s not a toy; but you are allowed to fly this Drone near people and buildings. I am now registered with the CAA and obtained the Free five year’s license to fly Drones; I would have still opted for this feature packed Drone even after learning about the rules and regulations. Overall an excellent buy.

Improvement Points: It needs the ‘Follow Me’ feature which would make it an ideal first drone for anyone. Other brands offer this feature even in mini Drones. Having said that, I am more than happy with this Drone which has given me a wonderful new hobby to pursue.
